final destination in the West of Ireland.
Galway
Airport is the fastest growing regional airport in
Ireland and has doubled its passenger throughput since
1998. Currently there are five daily services to Dublin
twice daily to London, and daily to Manchester,
Edinburgh, Birmingham and Glasgow.
In recent
years there has been a noticeable increase in the volume
of private charters visiting Galway, Netjets being one
of the more notable frequent visitors.
With over
22,000 traffic movements each year the airport is host
to a vibrant general aviation community. Galway Flying
Club is located on the airfield along with many
privately owned aircraft. A helicopter training school
is also located nearby.
